The Verona Opera Festival first took place in 1913 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi, and celebrated it's 91st edition and 100th anniversary in 2013.
Performances take place in the amphitheatre, the centre being known as the “harena” (hence the name), the area covered in sand where gladiatorial combats were held, the sand being used to absorb the blood of gladiators and animals. In its “platea” and “cavea” the amphitheatre can accommodate 30,000 people.
Your choice of opera for the festival will enthral and excite with breathtaking production and superb acoustics. All of our packages include Gold Central Stalls tickets - considered best in house - to ensure you have the most incredible experience.
