Cape Town and the Big 5

Cape Town & the Big 5 Safari

Throughout the year

Combining two destinations in South Africa provides for an introduction to a fascinating country, and whets the appetite for safari in Southern Africa.

Our Cape Town Safari experience brings together the fabulous cosmopolitan atmosphere of Cape Town, together with one of the best destinations for safari in South Africa. Motswari provides a wealth of opportunity to see wildlife - the 'Big 5' are regularly sighted around our safari destinations with Elephant, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo plentiful, and the Rhino often sighted. South Africa is something of a haven for wildlife and Safari is a great way to get out into the bush to experience a fantastic revival in animal life.

Welcome to Cape Town

The old and established suburbs of Gardens, Oranjezicht and Tamboerskloof merge into each other as they line the foothills of Table Mountain and Signal Hill.  The area enjoys convenient proximity to the city, the Table mountain Cableway, as well as the beaches.  The narrow little streets are lined by original Cape buildings, many of which have been beautifully restored, some now housing museums and art galleries, as well as lively sidewalk cafés and highly acclaimed restaurants.

Now known for its trendy and modern vibe, this region is often visited on foot, encompassing the historic Parliament Buildings, the Company Gardens and the cafés, culture and boutiques of Kloof Street.

Welcome to the your South Africa Safari destination: Timbavati Private Game Reserve

Our destination for this South Africa Safari is the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, 53000 hectares of private land, adjoining the Kruger National Park.  Since 1962, the Timbavati Association has been dedicated to conservation and this "Big Five" reserve is now characterised by strong lion, leopard and cheetah populations, as well as large herds of buffalo, wild dogs and elephants together with Rhino.

Timbavati is the birth place of the famous white lions, only known to occur in this region. In 2006 a resident pride gave birth to two white cubs for the first time in many years.
