This fabulous 6 night break visits 2 incredible camps in the Okavango Delta - the first at Kanana and then on to Shinde. Activities allow for the traditional 4x4 game drives, but you'll also have the opportunity to explore the delta by mokoro (a local type of boat).
The Okavango is home to a wide array of wildlife, including the 'Big 5' together with a massive variety of wild birds, and the rare Sitatunga Antelope.
Should you wish, we can extend your Okavango Delta Safari with a short break in Cape Town or along South Africa's Garden Route. Prices for these 'bolt on' options start from around £500pp for a 3 night extension.
Your international flights are included in the package shown - with departures from London Heathrow via Johannesburg. Flights generally depart late afternoon from the UK, arriving around lunchtime locally. The itinerary excludes the flight portion of your experience, starting from your local arrival.
Day 1: From Maun, a light aircraft will transfer you to the Okavango Delta, to spend 3 nights at Kanana Camp in spacious tents on raised teak decks. Enjoy lunch or afternoon tea before your first game viewing activity.
Day 2 & 3: The focus of activities at Kanana Camp varies with the rising and falling levels of the delta. Activities include 4x4 game drives in the early morning and later afternoon, exploring the waterways in mokoro or motorboat trips to enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plants and reptile species found in the area. Guided bush walks and fishing as well as a visit to the heronry are highly recommended!
Day 4: Transfer this morning by light aircraft to Shinde, nestled on a palm-dotted island deep in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta. You will spend 3 nights at Shinde in a large safari-style tent.
Day 5 & 6: The experienced guides at Shinde will escort you on game drives, bush walks, mokoro and motorboat trips and can also take you fishing. In camp simply relax in the lounge/library, laze by the pool or have a siesta in the heat of the day.
